On Monday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m., Madison County High School (MCHS) held their Beta Club Induction Ceremony in conjunction with an honor ceremony for upcoming Beta Club MCHS graduates of the Class of 2021.
Parents and family members filled the stands in support of their young loved ones. The ceremony began with the Beta Club officers each giving a brief speech and then passing out certificates and pins to new Beta Club members.
Graduates then filed across the stage one-by-one as Beta Club sponsor Susanne Griffin introduced each graduate to those in attendance. Many of the graduates have already earned their Associate of Arts degree and are working part-time jobs, in addition to their schooling.
Those in the ceremony then helped each other to light their candles, led by the officers. During this process, the lights in the gymnasium were dimmed, allowing for the glow of candles to illuminate the court. Inductees and graduates then exited the gym with their candles in hand, thus ending the ceremony.
