The Madison County High School junior varsity basketball team had to dig out of a sizable hole when they faced the Bulldogs of Taylor County High School on Saturday, Jan. 20. The young Cowboys team spotted the Bulldogs 14 points to open the game. The score was 15-6 by the end of the first quarter with the Bulldogs seemingly in control. However, the Cowboys managed to close the gap in the second period, and the score was tied at 23 at halftime. The Cowboys took the lead in the third period and held a 39-34 advantage at the end of the third quarter. The Cowboys were able to hold on to win the contest with a 56-52 final score.
The next home game for the Cowboys' junior varsity team will be against Lafayette High School on Friday, Jan. 26. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
