The Madison County High School (MCHS)'s boys competitive weight-lifting team brought the heat to their

recent district meet on Friday, Mar. 10, in Fort White. Collectively, the team won first place in five of the 10 weight classes. The team finished as district runner-up to Bradford County High School, the defending State Champions.
First place winners were Freshman Darion Staten (119 pound class), Senior Darian Graham (154 pound
class), Senior Kima McDaniel (183 pound class), Junior Leartes Bell (199 pound class), and Senior DJ Hartsfield (219 pound class). Also qualifying for the upcoming Regional meet were Ricky Anderson, Mike Gibson, Octavius Davis, Phennis Jennings, Isaac Redding, Jordan Alexander, Cameron Brown, and Tay Cuthbersome.
The team will compete in the Regional meet on Friday, Mar. 24, at Baker County High School, at 2 p.m.
