On Tuesday, May 30, the Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowgirls junior varsity and varsity softball teams gathered one final time to recognize the players who contributed to the team during the season. It was also an opportunity to say “thank you” to the coaches and others who helped the teams along the way.
Players on the junior varsity team receiving special recognition included: Most Improved – Christine Palsrok, Defensive Player of the Year – Emma Rogers, Offensive Player of the Year – Gracelyn Newsome, the Junior Varsity Cowgirl of the Year Award went to Tahj Dodson. Players on the varsity team receiving special recognition included: Most Improved – Tsadi Irvine, Defensive Player of the Year – Jadyn Wesley, Offensive Player of the Year – Logan Bass, Cowgirl of the Year – Josie Driggers. The recipient of the inaugural Greene Publishing, Inc. Cowgirl of the Year Award was Josie Driggers. Both Josie Driggers and Logan Bass won All-Academic recognition from the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). Logan Bass was given All-State honors by the FHSAA.
The Cowgirls finished their 2023 campaign with a 9-16 record.
