On Saturday, August 29 at 6 p.m., the Madison County High School Cowboys played against the Rickards Raiders of Rickards High School in an away-game at Gene Cox Stadium. Offense was led by Kentwan Daniels. Defense was led by Kenny McQuay and special teams Ed Davis. Patrick Brown led the Cowboys in rushing with 135 yards with one touchdown, with an average of 6.4 yards per carry and 21 attempts. Kentwan Daniels had one touchdown with a total of 149 yards at an average of 8.3 yards per carry at 18 attempts. Kenny McQuay followed with 15 yards at an average of 3.8 with four attempts, and Teryon Henderson ran three yards with an average of three yards per carry at one attempt. Overall, the Cowboys completed the game with 341 yards and 49 total plays with a total average of seven. Although coming out strong, the Cowboys lost to Rickards with a score of 20-14. The next Cowboys game will be an away-game held on Friday, September 4 at 8 p.m. against Brooks County Trojans at Brooks County High School. Brooks County High School is located at 1081 Barwick Rd., Quitman, Ga.
