David Sanders is the new Band Director for the Madison County High School. Sanders is a resident of Madison County and graduated from Madison County High School in 2010. Sanders participated in the band while attending MCHS. He started off playing the trumpet in middle school but soon realized that the instrument was too small for him. He switched to the euphonium or more commonly known as the baritone. After graduating high school, he planned to attend Florida State University for radiology but taught music at a Salvation Army summer camp that changed his mind. He loved the feeling of knowing that he helped the children achieve a sense of accomplishment. Sanders attended Valdosta State University. He graduated from VSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education in May of this year. While in college, he assisted the MCHS band director from 2010 to the fall of 2014. As the new Band Director, Sanders wants to bring a sense of normalcy back to the band and its members.
