Madison County Memorial Hospital (MCMH) was recognized by the National Rural Health Resource Center for its exemplary leadership and innovation in the area of performance improvement. In March, MCMH was featured as the hospital spotlight in Timely Transitions, a project newsletter for rural hospitals.
MCMH was chosen in recognition of their recent Financial Operational Assessment, because of the excellent work exhibited by the hospital's team, and their dedication to implementing the consultant's recommended best practices. Tammy Stevens, CEO of MCMH, received a letter and certificate of recognition from Sally Buck, Chief Operations Officer of the National Rural Health Resource Center, commending their performance.
The Small Rural Hospital Transition Project, which chose to support MCMH, selects hospitals based on program eligibility requirements, organizational readiness, leadership and commitment to continued improvement.
The Small Rural Hospitals Transitions Project is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, Federal Office of Rural Health Policy through a grant with the National Rural Health Resource Center and a contract with Rural Health Innovations, a subsidiary of the center.
