The Alzheimer's Project of Tallahassee and Covenant Care is teaming up to bring you the Understanding Dementia and Virtual Dementia Tour on Wednesday, March 11. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. This event will open your mind to the aspects of dementia and how to improve communication with your loved one who may be suffering from the disease.
During the event, the virtual dementia tour simulates the dementia experience, allowing attendees to gain a deeper understanding of the realities of such a disease. The interactive program has been shown to improve communication and care outcomes.
This hands-on event will help you to connect to retained skills of an individual living with dementia. Afterwards, you will be able to walk away confident in communicating and cooperating with your loved ones.
Refreshments will be provided at the event. To register, call Laura Kelly at (210) 639-0350 or email laura@alzheimersproject.org. You may also register with Lori Fitzpatrick at (850) 491-3435.
