On Thursday, Dec. 7, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Animal Services Department will be collaborating with Fix Them All and Access Veterinary Services to offer low-cost spay and neuter to Madison County pet owners.
The cost to spay or neuter your pets is $30 for cats and $50 for dogs. If you intend to take your dog to be spayed or neutered, he/she must be between eight weeks and three years old and should weigh from 10 to 45 lbs. For cats, there is no weight limit. MCSO Animal Services is not able to accommodate small breeds or aggressive dogs. Also each pet will require a rabies vaccine, which costs $10.
To register, visit MCSO Animal Services, open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If registering a dog, please bring him/her with you, in order to verify the weight. The last day to register is Friday, Dec. 1.
The surgeries will be performed by Access Veterinary Services in their mobile unit. The mobile unit will be set up at MCSO Animal Services.
