Leon Williams, III has been working for the Greenville post office as the postmaster since August of last year. Before obtaining this job position, Williams worked as a delivery supervisor at the post office in Valdosta for six years.
Williams was a military brat as a child but he and his mother moved back to Valdosta when Williams was in high school; he claims Valdosta as his home.
The commute from Valdosta to Greenville isn't an issue for Williams and he loves every aspect of his job. “I love the fact that I get to help folks solve problems, whether it be a mail problem or giving directions,” said Williams. “It's an overall great job.”
Williams enjoys working in Greenville because it is “quaint.” “Everyone is familiar,” said Williams. “It's a real friendly, inviting town. It's a change of pace from Valdosta, a little slower, but it's easier to get more involved with the community and meet everyone and learn what they do.”
Williams has been married to his wife, Paris for 14 years and together they have five children. When he isn't working at the post office, Williams indulges in his biggest passion: fishing.
