Leah Singletary, 18, was crowned the 2024 Miss Madison at the pageant on Saturday, April 6.
Singletary, the daughter of Scott and Laura Singletary, is a recent graduate from Madison County High School (MCHS) and will start at North Florida College (NFC) to earn her Associate of Arts degree. She plans to attend Southern Regional Technical College in Thomasville, Ga., to earn a degree in Veterinary Technology. Singletary said she hopes to return to work at the Madison Veterinary Clinic after she finishes school.
Singletary is a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization and attended the annual conference from Monday, June 10, to Friday, June 14. Singletary has shown cows at FFA conventions over the past few years, and earned her State FFA degree at this year's convention. She plans to attend next year to receive her American FFA degree, the highest degree possible.
Singletary was a cheerleader for three years and was a cheer captain last season. She said she recently became part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) ministry staff for cheer camps and will continue with the sport on staff.
Singletary has participated in the Miss Madison pageant for nine years, starting in 2015 when she was nine years old.
“I begged my mom for years and she never let me,” Singletary said. When Singletary's mom finally said yes, Singletary took home the crown as Young Miss Madison 2015. She has continued competing every year since. Singletary also won Junior Miss Madison in 2017, Teen Miss Madison in 2022 and now Miss Madison.
“I look forward to going out into the community and meeting new people and representing Madison County as a whole,” Singletary said.
