National board certification is an objective, measurable way of validating the graduate level educational preparation and clinical skills of pediatric nurse practitioners who will diagnose and treat illness of children and adolescents and manage their care over time. PNPs assess physical and emotional well-being of their patients, promote optimal health and play a vital role in the healthcare team. Established in 1975, the Pediatric Nursing Certified Board (PNCB) is the leading certification organization for pediatric nursing. PNCB’s mission is to provide the highest quality certification services for nursing professionals who care for pediatric populations. PNCB exams are unique in that they are the only certification exams collaboratively designed by Certified Pediatric Nurses, Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and pediatricians. PNCB exams are recognized and endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Association of Faculties of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the Society of Pediatric Nurses. The CPNP exam is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. For more information about Pediatric Nursing Certification Boars, visit www.pncb.org. They believe in magic, they play pretend, there is fairy dust in their IV bags and they cross their fingers and they make wishes and that makes them more resilient than adults. They recover faster, survive worse and they believe. In Peds, we have miracles and magic and in Peds…anything is possible.” – Grey’s Anatomy.
