The Middle Florida Baptist Association held their 116th Annual Session on Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mayo Baptist Church. The theme for this year's session was “Partnering Together with God.” Messengers from churches a part of the Middle Florida Baptist Association attended. Several guest speakers also were featured at the event, including Middle Florida Baptist Interim Pastor, Dr. James Obrecht with the inspirational message and Pastor Robert Bradow with the doctrinal message. Pastor David During delivered the missionary message. Dr. Lewis Miller, Catalyst for the Western Region of the Florida Baptist Convention, was also a special guest speaker at the event.
Shirley Harrell, Volunteer Coordinator of the Florida Baptist Children's Home, also spoke at the event and informed everyone that attended the session about different volunteer opportunities at the Florida Baptist Children's Home. She also talked about the different crafts that everyone could make for the children for the Christmas season. Betty Driggers and Eloise Green held a memorial service for all members who have passed since the last session was held, honoring them with a small speech and heartfelt poem. Session one began at 3 p.m. and ended at 5 p.m. Dinner was held at 5 p.m. and lasted until 6 p.m. After dinner, session two began at 6 p.m. and ended at 8:15 p.m. Judging by the fantastic speakers, friendly faces and food featured, it is no doubt that the 116th session was a success.
