On Saturday, Feb. 13, Madison Fl. Missions. Inc., held their annual Miles for Missions fundraiser. The event took place on the Madison County Trail adjacent to Valdosta Highway. The event both started and ended at 135 NE Dill St.
The event was a 15K, 10K, 5K and one-mile Fun Run.
Runners participating in the 15K left the starting mark at 8 a.m., with runners in the 10K leaving their starting positions at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K runners took off at 9 a.m.
The event was blessed with perfect weather the whole time the runners raced for first, second and third place titles but also ran to beat their own personal records.
After the completion of all the scheduled runs, the participants were gathered and door prizes distributed.
In total, the fundraiser brought in almost $2,000 for Madison Fl. Missions, Inc. to use towards the various planned mission programs that they support.
The winning outcome of the race was Ryan Kelly of Lake Park, Ga., in first place; Chad Thurner of Lee, in second place and Dana Stetson of Tallahassee, in third place.
