On Saturday. Feb. 25, there will be a Family Discovery Day, hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons). The event will take place from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. This will be a good opportunity for anyone wanting to begin a family genealogy search. Even those who are quite proficient and have already done extensive genealogy research in the past, or someone who simply enjoys genealogy as a hobby, will want to learn new techniques to preserve their family legacy.
Some of the class topics to be covered include: First Steps on Researching Your Family Tree, Researching Family History with Local Agencies, Am I Ready for DNA?; Comparing “Ancestry,” “Find mypast,” “FamilySearch” and “My Heritage,” and many more. There will also be activities for all ages that will improve family connections. Attendance is free; however, people are encouraged to sign up at http://familyhistorydiscoveryday.net/.
The Family Discovery Day will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 312 Stadium Dr, Tallahassee.
