Mother Careatha Laverne Smith Williams, 83, of Madison passed away on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, located at 339 Osgood St., in Madison. A viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 28, at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mother Williams was converted at an early age and joined New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church serving faithfully as church secretary, Sunday school teacher, bible study teacher, youth director and on the mother board. She was a member of the Electra Chapter 64 and Sweet Home Lodge 67. She leaves to cherish her very loving memories one son, Raleigh Dean (Tameka); grandchildren: La’Khiry Dean, Qua-esha Davis and Tolerance Straughter; great-grands: Ah’Zeriah Simpo, Anilee Morris, Y’Onna Robinson, Talaysia Straughter, Tolerance Straughter, Jr. and Bella Straughter; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
