John Lee Jones, 84, a lifelong resident of Madison, Fla., was the son of Booker T. Jones and Katie Mae Lewis Jones. They both preceded him in death.
A public viewing and visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in the chapel of Tillman of Madison, ~A Hall-Moore Provider~, (850) 973-6677, 379 W. Base Street, in Madison.
Family and friends called him “John L.” They considered him to be one who was ambitious in getting the job done, reliable in finishing what he began and vocal in letting you know how he felt. For many years, he was employed by the City of Lake City, (Fla.) as a cement finisher. He later earned the position as the supervisor of his team. John L. was naturally skilled in auto mechanics and small motors. During his free time, friends in the community would often call on him to identify unexpected motor issues or get him to make their minor repairs.
Death is the last chapter in time, but the first chapter in eternity. John L. closed his final chapter on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
Cherishing his legacy and memory are his forever companion, Sarah Solomon; children: Millie Miller, Larry (Phyllis) Solomon and Cynthia (Paul) Reddick; sister, Elizabeth Jones of Palm Bay, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other sorrowing and loving family, friends, neighbors and members of the community.
Final care and compassionate services are being provided to the Jones family, with love, care and uncompromising dignity, by the Hall-Moore Funeral Directors at Tillman Funeral Home of Madison (850) 973-6677.
