Myrtle B. Regan, 88, of Madison, passed away Sunday, March 8, at her home surrounded by her family in Cherry Lake. Myrtle was born October 27, 1926 in Caswell, N.C., to Jasper Henry Brandon and Nannie Brandon (Williams). Mrs. Regan was of the Methodist Faith and was a member of Cherry Lake Methodist Church in Cherry Lake. Myrtle and her late husband, Joe, were married December 25, 1946 and managed a textile mill in Rockingham, N.C. Later Myrtle worked at Cherry Lake Orchards for 20 years where she supervised the boxing and selling of peaches to the public. There she made many friends from all over Florida. Mrs. Regan is survived by her loving daughter, Jean Regan DeWitt (Philip), of Cherry Lake; one grandson, Joe DeWitt, of Cherry Lake; and two great-grandchildren: Timothy Joseph DeWitt and Elisa DeWitt, both of Cherry Lake. Mrs. Regan was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Regan; a grandson, Guy DeWitt; and great-grandson, Chad Lamar O'Quinn. Funeral services were held at Cherry Lake Methodist Church on Thursday, March 12, at 11 a.m., in Cherry Lake with Pastor Cherryl Register and Pastor John Peterson officiating. Interment will followed in Cherry Lake Methodist Cemetery in Madison. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, March 11, at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Madison, 323 SE Lakeshore Drive. All arrangements are under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home.
