Before you pop that frozen pizza or entrée in the microwave, check the box; Nestle has issued a voluntary recall of some of its DiGiorno Pizzas, Lean Cuisines and Stouffer’s frozen dinners over concerns about glass particles that may be present. No injuries have been reported but an investigation indicates that spinach, an ingredient common to all the recalled products, was the source of the glass. The recall includes the following:
DiGiorno Thin & Crispy Spinach and Garlic Pizza
DiGiorno Rising Crust Spinach and Mushroom Pizza
DiGiorno Pizzeria Thin Crust Spinach and Mushroom Pizza
DiGiorno Pizzeria Tuscan-style Chicken Pizza
Lean Cuisine Spinach and Mushroom Pizza
Lean Cuisine Spinach Artichoke Ravioli
Lean Cuisine Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli
Lean Cuisine Spinach, Artichoke & Chicken Panini
Lean Cuisine Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli
Stouffer’s Vegetable Lasagna (10 oz., 37 oz. and 96 oz. sizes)
Stouffer’s Spinach Soufflé
Stouffer’s Chicken Lasagna
The product codes as well as Best Before dates for each of the above items are available on the company's website at www.nestleusa.com/media/pressreleases/.
Consumers who may have purchased the products listed above should not consume them, but should instead contact Nestle Consumer Services at 1-800-681-1676.
Constellation Company issues
“limited recall” of Corona Extra
If you were thinking about a nice cold brewski to go with your Digiorno pizza, you’re probably okay if it’s not Corona Extra. If it is, take a look at the code printed on the sides of the carton and the bottlenecks, because Constellation has issued a recall for the same reason as Nestle – glass particles.
The recall is limited in scope, according to the company, affecting only about one out of every 5,000 bottles of Corona Extra in 6-pack, 12-pack and 18-pack cases.
Other variations of Corona are not affected by the recall.
On 6-pack and 12-pack cases, if the eight-digit code begins with “G” and ends with “9” and if an 18-pack begins with “F29” and ends with “9,” contact Constellation’s Consumer Call Center at (866) 204-9407.
