On Tuesday, March 24, the Florida Senate passed a bill that would allow gun owners without a concealed weapon permit to take their guns with them during emergency evacuations. The law includes firearms, self-defense chemical spray, non-lethal stun gun, dart firing stun gun, non-lethal electric weapons or other devices that are designed solely for defensive purposes. The bill (SB 290) is not a law yet. It must be approved by the House of Representatives and then signed into law by Governor Rick Scott.
