New metal detectors coming to Madison County schools

During the regular meeting of the Madison County District School Board on Monday, Feb. 3, the board approved an $18,705 expenditure for three new walk-through metal detectors. According to Rod Williams, the district’s safety coordinator, this was an item the district has been looking to acquire for some time. “It was on the horizon,” said Williams. “It just fell into our laps at the right time.” The $18,705 covers not only the three metal
