On Thursday, Dec. 9, the New Testament Christian School Saints hosted the Lions of First Christian School, from High Springs, at the Madison Church of God Family Life Center. The game was hotly contested, with several lead changes throughout the event. In the end, the Saints were able to hold onto a late lead and win the game, 57-51.
The Lions took the early lead and had a 16 -10 edge at the end of the first quarter. The Saints were able to close the gap and by halftime held a 28-25 lead. The Lions regained the lead after halftime and the score was 37-36, in favor of the Lions, going into the final period. The Saints rebounded and took over late in the game to take the contest, 57-51.
The Saints' next home game is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the Madison Church of God Family Life Center, when the Saints will play the Warriors of Gainesville Christian Community School. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.
