At its June meeting, North Florida Community College (NFCC) and the NFCC District Board of Trustees honored Bruce A. Leinback of Jefferson County for 20 years of dedicated service to the College. As the College Attorney, Leinback has provided legal counsel and services to three NFCC presidents and a multitude of NFCC Board members. The June meeting was Leinback’s last official Board meeting leading to his retirement as NFCC’s attorney.
“I want to take a moment to thank Mr. Leinback for his service for 20 years to North Florida Community College,” said NFCC District Board of Trustees Chair Mike Williams. “He has been a great resource for me, and I know for President Grosskopf as well. We are going to miss you greatly.”
Past NFCC District Board of Trustees Chair John Maultsby attended the June meeting to commend Leinback for his outstanding service to the college. “I want to wish Bruce well with his future endeavors. I was on the Board 19 years, several as Chairman, and Mr. Leinback was not only a valuable legal person, but he was just a valuable person. I wish you well.”
Leinback, a resident of Jefferson County since 1985, has spent over 40 years practicing law. He has a law office in Tallahassee and serves as the City Attorney for the City of Monticello. He is a member of the Florida Bar and District of Columbia Bar, the American Bar Association and the Jefferson County Bar Association. Leinback is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and Past President of the William H. Stafford American Inn of Court in Tallahassee. He has been an Adjunct Professor at the Florida State University College of Law and worked for the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission and the United States government after graduating from the FSU College of Law in 1976.
He and his wife, Linda, are active members of the Jefferson County community and attend Christ Episcopal Church in Monticello. Leinback has served as an officer and director of the Jefferson County Historical Association, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Monticello Opera House. He is also an active Rotarian and is Past President of the Tallahassee Northside Rotary Club. Leinback and his wife are also long-time patrons of the NFCC Artist Series.
“Thank you all so much. It’s been a very rewarding 20 years for me,” said Leinback upon being honored by the College and NFCC District Board of Trustees. “In my career of almost forty-one years of practicing law, I have never worked with a more dedicated group of faculty, administrators, Board members and staff. This institution will always have a very special place in my heart.”
