You are invited to join Jessica Ratliff, Tara Strickland and Bryan McHargue for a Night of Worship on Saturday, March 28, at Ragans Family Campground, in Madison. The night will feature music, fellowship and refreshments, all centered around raising funds for Madison native Kristen Tuten, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in December of 2019.
Tuten's medical bills have continued to grow as she approached her final weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatments at North Florida Regional Hospital, in Gainesville. Tuten and her husband, Casey, have two young children: Lacey, who is eight years-old and Wesley, who is five. Tuten is a nurse consultant for Gulf Coast Healthcare, regularly traveling between Lake City and Destin, Fla. Tuten is the daughter of Debbie Rutherford and the late Randy Rutherford, of Madison. Randy passed away in 2004 after battling lung cancer.
The trio of Ratliff, Strickland and McHargue have teamed up before to help raise money for Mike Woods several months ago. "It's really not about us or the music," said Ratliff. "We know the Lord inspired us to put this together and we just want to love on Kristen and her family."
There will be several ways to contribute to Tuten at the Night of Worship. A love offering will be received during the music and teal-colored t-shirts that bear Tuten's favorite scripture will be available for donations of $20. The shirts can be ordered from the Night of Worship Facebook page and be picked up at the event. If you are unable to pick up your shirt, contact Ratliff at jessicaratliffgospel@gmail.com to make arrangements. Shirts of all sizes are available. As a show of support for Tuten, those attending are encouraged to purchase t-shirts in advance so that they can "go teal" for Tuten and wear their shirts to the fundraiser.
You can also plan on attending the gathering on an empty stomach, because chicken and rice dinners and boiled peanuts will be on sale. Even the leftovers will be sold as the night concludes, so as much money as possible can be raised.
Ragans Family Campground is located at 1051 SW Old St. Augustine Rd., in Madison.
