Deacon Willies Bruton, Sr., 89, of Greenville, Fl., went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 13. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 21 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with military burial honors at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 20 at the church from 5-6:30 p.m. Tillman of Monticello (850-997-5553) is serving the family. He was born in Lamont. Deacon Bruton was a dedicated member of New Zion and a retired forklift operator for Florida Plywood. He was a World War II era U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include his daughters: Dorothy James, Susie Blackshear, Verna (Rayfield) Jones, Geneitha Bruton and Wanda Craddock; sons: Willis (Joyce), Reverend Ernest (Barbara), Alvin (Exzandra), Calvin and Gregory Bruton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Hattie Mills Bruton; daughter, Constance Thompson; brothers: John, David, Alex and Freddie; and his sisters: Rosa Lee, Ethel Lee, Irene and Martha.
