Frances “Fran” Bishop Mero, age 63, died Sunday, June 28, at Lake Park of Madison. Graveside Memorial services will be Saturday, July 11, at 11 a.m., at Oak Ridge Cemetery. She was born on September 26, 1951 in Valdosta, Georgia to her parents, Griffin and Edna Earl Reams Bishop. She was a graduate of Madison High School, North Florida Junior College and University of Central Florida. She lived in the Central Florida area for 38 years until her return to Madison in 2010. She worked in the window industry for 25 plus years until her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. She was an asset to the companies she worked for because of her honesty and her outgoing personality.
Fran was an avid fan of college football, especially Florida State University. Her beloved dog was named Bowden. She loved good music, people and loved watching the hummingbirds outside her window. She was one of the sweetest people and was generally cheerful. She made people feel special and will be greatly missed. Fran is survived by her daughter, Emily Mero Blue; grandson, Grayson Mero; one brother, Tommy Bishop; two nieces, one nephew, and one great-niece. She is also survived by Frances Mercer, a loving friend and almost stepmother.
She was predeceased by her parents Griffin and Edna Bishop.
