James Zorn Sherrod “Jimmy,” 62, passed away at his home on September 19.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home Madison, Florida. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born on December 7, 1952 in Thomasville, Georgia. He is the son of Hubert and Betty Sherrod. He was a graduate of Greenville High School and Florida State University. He worked at W. L. Sherrod Lumber, Inc. for over 26 years. He retired after 14 years at Florida Plywood Inc. Jimmy was of the Methodist faith and was a perpetual member of Greenville Masonic Lodge #28 F&AM and Madison Lodge#11. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid Seminole fan.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 31 years, Debra Cartmill Sherrod; two sons: Tyler Sherrod (Christina) and Drew Sherrod (Taylor); one brother, Hugh Sherrod (Ellen); two sisters: Mary Ludwick (Ronald) and Pam Burnett; one granddaughter, Brilynn Sherrod; two aunts, five nieces, two nephews and numerous friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and one son, James Zorn “Chip” Sherrod, Jr.
