James Thomas Burnette (Jimmy), age 73, died at home on Friday, September 18.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, September 20, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home, Madison, Florida with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville, Florida Rev. Sammy Bass and Rev. Chris Peterson officiated, Tom Waddail, Paul Burnett, Tony Stephenson, Clint Nash, Leroy Rutherford, Jr., Allen Welch and Terry Barrs served as pallbearers.
He was born in Birmingham, Alabama and moved to Greenville at an early age. He was retired from Tri-County Electric Cooperative after 39 years of service. He also was a volunteer fireman and first responder for Greenville Volunteer Fire Dept. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Reapers of the Harvest Church in Greenville.
He was predeceased by his parents, J.O. Burnette and Leila Mae Yates Day.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn; one daughter, Bridget Malone (Toby) of Greenville; two sons: Jeff Burnette (Jennifer) of High Springs and Derek Burnette of Greenville; a sister, Marjorie Andrews of Monticello, Florida and six grandchildren.
