Levis Earl Lawson Sr, 85, of Mayo, Fl., passed away July 14, 2015. Levis was born March 9, 1930 in Mayo, Fl., to the late Robert Lawson and Lula (Harris) Lawson. Levis was raised in Mayo, Fl. and he proudly served in the United States Army as a Sergeant. Upon his discharge from the military he returned to Mayo and became a farmer and a building contractor, building homes and shopping centers. Levis loved to work, fish and spend time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lula Lawson; and his brothers: Otis, R.L., Gene and Talmadge Lawson. Levis is survived by his wife of 57 years Frances Walker Lawson; his children: Kathryn Lawson, Marsha Sullivan and her husband Mike, Levis Lawson Jr. and his wife Becky, and son Bruce Lawson. His grandchildren: Hunter Chapman and AJ, Andrew Smith, Walker Lawson, Marissa Sullivan and Skyler Lawson; his siblings: sister, Imogene Kent, brother, Walter Lawson and wife Norma, and youngest sister Annie Laura Hall. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church - Mayo on Friday, July 17, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Todd Babione and Brother Randy Waters officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Mayo followed by refreshments in the social hall. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
