A single vehicle wreck caused serious injuries for a Madison County man on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 6:45 a.m.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports, Richard Chaney, 57, of Madison was southbound on State Road 53 North when he lost control of his 2000 Saturn. The vehicle traveled onto the west shoulder of the highway, collided with a tree and overturned onto its roof. The vehicle came to a final rest on the west shoulder of State Road 53 North, facing west.
Chaney received serious injuries, in the crash, and was transported to South Georgia Medical Center, in Valdosta, Ga.
FHP Trooper Gabriel M. Llanes was the crash investigator.
