One man died in a two-vehicle wreck on I-10, near mile-marker 236, Monday night, Nov. 28, at 10 p.m.
According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, 45 year-old Tommy Jones, of Keystone Heights, Fl., was traveling westbound on I-10 in the outside lane, in a 2016 Ford F-150. A 1993 Kenworth semi-truck, driven by Naquille Martin, 22, of Mount Hermon, La., was also traveling westbound in the outside lane. As Jones’ truck approached the semi, he was traveling at a much higher rate of speed and collided into the rear of the semi-trailer. After impact, both vehicles traveled onto the westbound shoulder and came to a final rest, facing west.
CPR was performed on Jones, on scene, until Madison County EMS could arrive. He was then transported to Madison County Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The passenger in the Ford truck received minor injuries and the driver of the semi received no injuries.
FHP Trooper Charles Swindle was the crash investigator.
