On Monday, Nov. 22, some of the final Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes were loaded on trailers at Madison Church of God. Drop Off Team Leader Janet Diamond was pleased to report that the Madison area shipped 2,694 boxes of Christmas cheer to kids all over the world. Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan's Purse. Each year, they send millions of boxes filled with necessities and gifts for children in need. The children also find within their boxes messages about Jesus and the hope of salvation found in Him.
Central Baptist Church, in Jefferson County, dropped off about 800 shoe boxes, while Fellowship Baptist delivered over 700 boxes and Madison Church of God contributed another 425 shoe boxes to the worthy cause. The churches and organizations in the Madison area demonstrated once again their generous nature by producing such a large number of boxes to serve families who will benefit greatly from their acts of love.
