The blueprint for President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s plans for getting the U.S.A. involved in WWII was announced on the front page of the Chicago Tribune. Yes, on Thursday, Dec. 4, 1941, there it was, in big box car letters, the front-page headline: “FDR’s War Plans!”
