Paul O. McKenzie, Jr., of Hahira, Ga. passed away suddenly on Monday, Feb. 5, in Madison. He was the eldest son of the late Paul O. McKenzie, Sr. and Alice Lucille McKenzie (Cox).
Paul honorably served our country in the United States Army. Paul loved God and served him with all his heart, soul and mind. He was an elder with The Barn House of Prayer, in Clyattville, Ga. He enjoyed horseback riding, camping, kayaking and spending time with his wife. Paul worked in construction and was self-employed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, John D. Glass; brother-in-law, Jimmy Greene; and sister-in-law, Kathy Glass.
Paul will be deeply missed by his loving wife of over 25 years, Denise Glass McKenzie; a special son, Jon Michael (Amy) Redding, of Middleburg; one grandson who lit up his life, Connor Redding; sister, Judith Green, of Hahira; brother, Kenneth (Loyce) McKenzie, of Owensboro, Ky; mother-in-law, Jacqueline Glass, of Valdosta; sister-in-law, Kathy (Lewis Peppetti) Slief, of Valdosta; four brothers-in-law: Mason (Jamie Carter) Coddington, of Valdosta; Del (Karen) Glass, of Chesapeake Bay, Va; Dwayne (Mary) Glass, of Lake Alford, Fl; and Donald Glass, of Auburndale, Fl; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
A celebration of life worship service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m., at New Life Community Church, located at 7505 Seigler Rd., in Lake Park, with Beth Bland and Mark Brady officiating. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
