During the weekend of Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2, golfers from across the region descended on the Madison Golf and RV Resort for the 2021 Pot Williams Golf Tournament. J.B. Wilson, of Valdosta, was the overall winner. When regular play concluded on Sunday afternoon, three players were in a dead heat, at 137, for the prized “Red Champion's Jacket” and the $500 top cash prize. After Wilson, Cole Wentworth and Chad Arnold battled it out on the Number Nine green, Wilson emerged on top and was soon wearing red.
“It was another great event for the books here at the Madison Country Club,” said Brian Faircloth, President of Madison Golf and RV Resort. “We had a sold out tournament with a lot of good golfers from around the area. Everyone had a good time and showed great sportsmanship.”
The next tournament at the Madison Golf and RV Resort will be the Shriners Tournament on Saturday, June 5. That will be followed by the big Madison County Football Golf Scramble, presented by Ace Hardware, on Monday, June 7. Proceeds from the Madison County Football Golf Scramble will go to help the Madison County High School (MCHS) football program.
