North Florida Community College is proud to announce that two of its students, Keysha Horn of Suwannee County and Susan McCool of Madison County have been named to the 2015 All-Florida Academic Team. Horn and McCool will be honored as members of this year’s All-Florida Academic Team at an awards ceremony at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee on April 9. A total of 124 Florida College System (FCS) students are among the honorees. Students, nominated by their respective colleges to the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by USA Today and the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, are selected as members of the All-Florida Academic Team based on their outstanding academic achievement, leadership and community service. In a press release from the Florida College System (FCS) on Feb. 18, Florida Department of Education Commissioner Pam Stewart commended FCS students on the achievement. “I’m pleased to recognize this group of outstanding scholars for excelling in their studies while providing leadership and service to their schools and communities,” said Commissioner Stewart. “Our colleges have done an excellent job preparing these students for success now and in the future. I’m confident these are among the next generation of leaders in the Sunshine State.” For more information about the All-Florida Academic Team, visit www.floridacollegesystem.com/all-florida.
