Bumble Bee tuna recalled
Bumble Bee Foods has announced a voluntary recall of nearly 32,000 cases of its canned Chunk Light tuna due to possible contamination. No illnesses associated with these products have been reported, but the company is proceeding out of an abundance of caution, according to various reports.
Bumble Bee issued the recall after it conducted a safety audit at a co-packing facility it does not own or operate; it discovered that the facility was deviating from the standard commercial sterilization protocols, leading to fears of possible contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens “that could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed.”
The affected cans were produced during February of 2016 and distributed nationally. Here's how you can check if the tuna you have has been recalled by Bumble Bee:

Bumble Bee has stated that they are working with the co-packing facility and the FDA to remove the cans from distribution as soon as possible. Consumers who purchased cans of the recalled tuna are advised to throw them away immediately and contact Bumble Bee at (888) 820-1947 to seek reimbursement.
