Richard Miller, Jr., 71, of Tallahassee, transitioned this earthly life on Thursday, February 26, at the Margaret Dozier Big Bend Hospice House. Services celebrating his life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7, at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Viewing-visitation is from 3-7 p.m., Friday at Tillman of Tallahassee, (850) 942-1950. Burial with military honors will be 1 p.m., Sunday, March 8, in Concord Cemetery, Greenville. A Greenville native and Master Barber-Cosmetologist, he owned several shops, operating as Miller’s Hairworks. Well-known throughout the Big Bend Area, Richard earned two degrees in Elementary Education and Business Administration from Florida A&M University. He was a Vietnam Combat U.S. Army veteran and an avid fisherman. Treasuring his love and legacy are his devoted wife, Sarah Feacher Miller; daughters: RaShaunda Miller-Wallace and Sharron Miller (Vincent) Marshall; sons: Kerwin and Eric Miller; sisters: Rosetta (Martin) Coker, Beatrice (Willie) Benjamin, Geraldine (Ulysses) Roberson, Darlene (Barry) Cooper and Evelyn (Steve) Barrett; brother, Cornell (Pauline) Miller; grandchildren: Dradjah Wallace, Shironda and An’ye Miller and Jase and Dane Marshall; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Richard Sr. and Mary Bolden Miller; and siblings: Dorothy M. Pouncel, Willie James and Curtis Miller.
