Roberta M. Miller, 76, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 in Gainesville, Fl. Roberta was born on Sept. 8, 1940 in Piqua, Oh. to Robert Morris and Alma Hann Morris.
Mrs. Miller was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Roberta worked as a homemaker, and in sales in the sporting goods department at Wal-mart. She was also involved in bringing the ministry into the Coon Dog Field Trials. She was active in traveling to local churches to sing with her daughter Mary. She was an active member of the Madison County Garden Club. She loved spending time with family members during cookouts and family and friend gatherings.
Roberta was preceded in death by her father, Robert Morris; mother, Alma Hann Morris; son, Charles (Chuck) Miller; and her brothers: Russell Morris, Socky Karns, and Buddy Karns.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles Miller; three sons: Jeff Miller of Dowling Park, Fl., Rex Miller (Carlene) of Lee, Fl., and Tim Miller (Sarah) of Washington State; two daughters, Terri Shefbuch (Rodney) of Dowling Park, Fl. and Mary Miller (James) of Lee, Fl.; one brother, Robert J. Morris of Winter Haven, Fl.; and two sisters, Patricia Smith (Ovie) of Jacksonville, Fl. and Winona Asher (Rick) of Winter Haven, Fl. She had 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. at New Testament Christian Center with Pastor Pat Doyle and Rev. Gary Abbott officiating. Interment services followed immediately afterwards in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12 at New Testament Christian Center. All arrangements were under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
