The state of Florida offers free fishing days to residents and non-residents for freshwater and saltwater fishing. The next license-free saltwater fishing day is on Saturday, Sept. 2.
On this saltwater free fishing day, the fishing license requirement applies to all anglers. The saltwater waiver applies to any recreational harvest requiring a saltwater fishing license, such as crabbing, lobstering, scalloping, fishing from shore or boat; etc. A snook or spiny lobster permit is also not required during this day.
License-free days provide an opportunity for those who do not have a fishing license to go fishing, take youth fishing or introduce a friend to fishing without having to purchase a license.
All other rules such as season, bag, and size limits apply. For more information visit https://myfwc.com/about/rules-regulations/.
