Major David Harper of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports the recent arrests of 26-year-old Akeem Ola Juwon Watson and 29-year-old Malisha Monet Wilson, both of Madison, following a search warrant conducted at their residence on Columbia Street during the early morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 27.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office received numerous complaints from concerned citizens regarding suspected drug activity taking place at and near the residence prompting the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force to conduct an investigation. As a result of the investigation, DTF investigators were able to develop probable cause to obtain a narcotics search warrant for the residence.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office S.E.R.T. Team executed the search warrant without incident and turned the residence over to DTF investigators once the suspects were in custody and the residence was secured. During search of the residence, investigators located large amounts of illegal narcotics concealed in nearly every room within the residence including MDMA (Ecstasy), Xanax and Marijuana. Investigators also located items commonly used in the sale of illegal narcotics which include a digital scale and packaging materials.
Major Harper encourages citizens not to tolerate this type of activity in their neighborhoods and to report suspicions to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Drug related investigations often take an extended amount of time and effort however the end result is almost always positive for the community.
