Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 marks the dates for the Lee Homecoming Days.
The two-day event will be bursting with various fun activities for all ages.
On March 18, the event for the day will last from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and individuals can witness the Deep South Seam Engine Club Trade Show, participate in the Pinewood Derby Car Race (open to ages four to 99) from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and the Pedal Tractor Pull (for ages four to 13) from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
On March 19, the event opens early at 8 a.m and will last until 5 p.m.
The Deep South Steam Engine Club trade show will be ongoing through both events and the event-filled day on Saturday, March 19 will start with a 7:30 a.m. pancake breakfast cooked by the Lee Methodist Church; there will be a fee for the breakfast, with adults paying $15, children five and up paying $3 and kids under four eating for free. There will be a parade at 10 a.m. (line up will begin at 9:30 a.m.) and a cake auction will take place at 11 a.m.
Pinewood Derby finals will be held at 12 p.m. followed by an awards ceremony at 1 p.m.
Throughout the event, there will be several food, arts and crafts vendors, as well as bounce houses, coloring contests (with an art display following) and a quilt show. There will also be live entertainment by the award-winning Trinity River Band.
The band hails from Callahan, Fl. and they burst onto the national stage for acoustic music just eight years ago. Tracing their progress, one would find that Trinity River Band began their performances in local churches in early 2008 and they quickly transitioned into a full-time national touring act in 2011. The band’s popular mix of inspirational country, acoustic roots, folk and bluegrass performances quickly garnered them with a loyal and devoted nationwide following of fans.
The two-day event has no admission or parking fees.
