Florida Highway Patrol reports that, on May 7, 2015 at 10:39 p.m., a semi-truck heading Eastbound on Interstate 10, struck a tree and became engulfed in flames.
The driver, Ahmed Farah of Burnsville, MN, was reportedly traveling in the outside travel lane when a front tire blew out, causing the vehicle to travel into the eastbound emergency lane. The truck continued to travel east and entered the south shoulder. The front of the truck struck a tree, coming to a final rest on the south shoulder of I-10, fully engulfed in flames, facing an easterly direction. There were no injuries. The incident caused a reported $150,000 worth of damage.
