The FloridaHSFootball.com website has announced their Florida All-State football team for each classification and the Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowboys and Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) Warriors are well-represented.
MCHS Cowboy Vinsonta Allen was named the overall Player of the Year for Class 1A. Allen helped lead the Cowboys to a third straight state championship while playing quarterback for the Cowboys, a position he had never played before his senior season. Other Cowboys selected to the first team offense were: wide receiver Derrion Staten and offensive linemen Zane Herring and Zac Coe. Cowboys selected for the first team defense included defensive lineman Jahyren Lee, linebacker Ke'shaun Mitchell and defensive backs Zarrion Robinson and Octavius Davis. Representing the Cowboys on the second team offense are: offensive lineman Le'tavious Cuthbertson and running back Robert Hiers. Defensive lineman Todd Brown was named to the second team defense. Those Cowboys receiving Honorable Mention are: Zechariah Janes, Jordan Alexander and Chalon Howard.
In Class 2A, a pair of Aucilla Christian Academy players were recognized. Kicker Brandon Hannon was named to the second team offense and running back Jared Grant received Honorable Mention.
Selection to the All-State teams was based on coach's nominations, input from various media outlets, stats, listing on All-Area and All-County teams and schedules played.
