Shirley Devane Hartley passed away on Friday, Feb. 10 in Tallahassee, Fl., at the age of 69, after suffering from an extended illness.
She resided at the Heritage Health Center in Tallahassee for the past several years during her illness. She was born in Marianna, Fl., and grew up in Wabasso, Fl. She resided in Madison County most of her adult life and had been a member of the Madison Church of God.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Gill Whitworth (Mark) of Tallahassee, Fl.; son, James Gill (Pam) of Lee, Fl.; granddaughter, Tara Gill of Madison, Fl.; sister, Odessa Devane of Lee, Fl.; brother, Carl Devane of Lee, Fl.; great-nephew, Kevin Medders of Lee, Fl.; great-niece, Sybile Medders of Lee, Fl.; two step-daughters, Angie Hartley of Montgomery, Al., and Lynn Moody (Danny) of Auburn, Al.; ten step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, two dear aunts and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Hartley; parents, Woodrow and Carolyn Devane; and brother, David Devane.
Shirley loved her family and was always a source of comfort to her loved ones.
A graveside service will be held in the coming weeks at San Pedro Cemetery.
