March 1, 1950 - November 22, 2022 - Shyril Elizabeth Norris, 72, of Suwannee, passed away at Bedrock Nursing Facility in Lake City, Fla., after lengthy medical issues. Together, with her husband L.B. "Bum" Norris, she owned and operated Bum's Marina, in Suwannee, for many years until they retired.
Shyril loved to fish, work with her flowers and socialize with family and friends. She was a huge Florida Gator football fan and enjoyed attending football games with her husband. She enjoyed peaceful walks around her yard, watching hummingbirds around her flowers and relaxing around a good fire. She was of the Baptist faith.
Shyril was a loving mother to Penny Walsh of Suwannee and grandmother to A.J. Skinner (Wellborn); She was a loving sister to her 10 siblings, and she had many people she considered part of her family from Suwannee.
Shyril was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. "Bum" Norris; her parents, Pennywell and Oralee Kelley, of Live Oak; brothers, Roy Kelley, of Live Oak and P.F. Kelley (Clarice) Lee; and sister, Sudie (Cleveland), of Jennings.
Shyril is survived by daughter, Penny Walsh, of Suwannee; grandson, A.J. Skinner, of Wellborn; stepdaughters: Anne Hough, Betty Odom, Lynn Norris and Krysta McGwire, all of Lakeland; brothers: Wes (Janice) Kelley, Madison, Jerry (Maxine) Kelley, of Jacksonville and Terry (Laura) Kelley, of Lake City; sisters: Lavern (Lester), of Jasper, Tina (Ray) Ulrich, of Homerville, Ga., Chris "Kiffy" (Paul) O'Dwyer, of Live Oak and Rhonda (Richard) Hancock, of Live Oak; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Suwannee Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022 at 3 p.m. with Brother Fred Edwards officiating.
