Stephan Caleb Smith, age 92, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 in the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park, Fla.
He was born and raised in Madison County, Fla. and had moved to Live Oak, Fla. when he was 17 and finished high school there. Following high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps for a 2-year enlistment period. He was a graduate of the University of Florida. Following graduation, he moved to Havana, Fla., where he resided for several years. He then moved to Orange Park, Fla., where he was employed as a CPA by Hall and Fischer in Jacksonville. Later in life, he, along with his partners, founded Masters, Smith and Whisby, CPA Firm. He loved to travel, was an avid golfer and was active in his church, Village Church, in Dowling Park, Fla.
He is survived by two sons: Wayne Gregory Smith of Cherry Lake, Fla., and Frank Smith (Beth) of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Lynn Smith Barnes (Glynn) of Madison; and two grandchildren: Alexander Barnes and Riley K. Barnes; and several other relatives and family members.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at 1 p.m., in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Madison, Fla.
