Madison Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at 154 SW Anderson Pond Trail on Sunday, June 7 at 9:50 p.m. There was an adult, Sage Brown, and two children at home at the time of the fire. No one was injured. The cause of the fire was determined to be an unattended pan on the stove that overheated and ignited. The living room and kitchen areas were destroyed with smoke and heat damage. The rest of the house also suffered heat and smoke damage. The property and content damage is estimated at $20,000. Madison Fire Rescue Chief Bruce Jordan wants to remind people to keep an eye on what they are cooking. Madison Fire Rescue was assisted by New Home Volunteer Fire Department, Pinetta Volunteer Fire Department, Greenville Volunteer Fire Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Madison County EMS.
