Relay For Life of Madison is currently scheduled for Friday, April 29 from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Madison County High School Boothill Stadium.
Event Chair Denise Bell has been working tirelessly throughout the community to help raise support for the event and make this year as spectacular as last year.
The theme for this year's Relay For Life is based off of Dr. Seuss and titled “I do not like cancer here or there, I do not like cancer anywhere!”
The Survivor Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, April 14, at 6 p.m. in the North Florida Community College’s Student Center (Building 9). Survivor Chair Gwen Bivens has been doing an outstanding job reaching out to local businesses. Any business interested in donating food for the dinner are encouraged to contact Gwen Bivens at BivensG@nfcc.edu.
“We are beyond excited for Relay For Life 2016! There are so many reasons as to why we Relay, one of them being that cancer is something that touches so many people, and no matter if you’re someone recently diagnosed, a caregiver, a friend, family member or even a survivor it can be a scary thing to face alone,” said Bell. “That is why we Relay, because no one should ever feel alone in their fight. We stand together in this community, and we will walk together, celebrate together and fight together during this year’s Relay For Life.”
Bell looks forward to seeing everyone at the event, whether big, small, short or tall to help relay towards a world where “cancer is neither here nor there or anywhere!”
