Madison County Sheriff David Harper reports that during the past recent months, the Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Investigators conducted a series of drug investigations directed at specific locations and residences involved in the illegal sale and distribution of controlled substances.
As a result of the investigations, a search warrant was obtained for the residence located at 324 SW Bum Gardener, apartment G3 in Madison. The residence was located within the Spring Hill Apartments complex, historically known as the Madison Heights Apartments.
On Wednesday, May 17, the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, joined with other Sheriff’s Office members and executed the search warrant. During the execution of the search warrant, the resident of the apartment, Brittany Iyana Hicks, B/F, DOB: 03/29/2000, was located and secured. The search discovered numerous plastic packages some of which contained illegal substance residues, several scales used to weigh the illegal product prior to selling, 4.7 grams of Alpha PVP, (street name known as Flakka) and 2.2 grams of marijuana.
Hicks was taken into custody without further incident, and booked in at the Madison County Jail for the following charges:
1. 1ct. Possession synthetic narcotic with intent to sell
2. 1ct. Public disorder crime/nuisance for drug activity
3. 1ct. Possession drug paraphernalia
Brittany Hicks received a combined $10,000.00 surety bond for her charges and posted 10 percent with her bondsman and is no longer in custody.
